What to Expect

We primarily follow the Lutheran Service Book. Services follow a traditional liturgical format, and last about an hour. Ushers and members are happy to assist visitors. Please talk with anyone if you have questions, we’re here to help. The service can be confusing at first, but familiarity usually comes quickly. You can read more about the Service here

1st and 3rd Sundays follow the Service of Prayer and Preaching. The service includes Scripture readings, singing traditional hymns, prayers, and a 15-20 minute sermon

2nd, 4th, and 5th Sundays follow Divine Service Setting 3. The service is divided into 2 main parts: Service of the Word (including Scripture readings, 15-20 minute sermon, and prayers), and Service of the Sacrament (centered on Holy Communion). We practice closed communion, meaning those who have received catechetical instruction or are members of another LCMS church may partake. If you are not communing, you are welcome to come to the rail and receive a blessing — simply cross your arms over your chest when approaching the altar

There is no dress code. Wear whatever you’re comfortable in

Children are warmly welcome. We do not offer childcare since we hope they will be part of the service — even if fussy or crying. There are toys and coloring pages in the back kids can use during church. We have a nursery available with a view of the sanctuary for those who need a quiet space
